I’M NEW
Welcome to Decatur Christian Fellowship!
If you are new to Decatur Christian Fellowship, welcome! We believe that everyone, regardless of whatever stage in life they are in, is valuable to God and to us. DCF has valued North Alabama for over 40 years. Our goal is to tell people about our good God, what He has, and what He can do. Also conveying who the enemy is, what he has, and what he can do. Likewise, telling the believer, who they are, what they have, and what they can do. We are a safe place to come as you are, find healing, and purpose, and join a community that cares for one another.
What to expect
Visiting a new church can be intimidating, and we want you to be prepared and comfortable. Here are the answers to some FAQ’s:
What should I wear?
We want you to be comfortable. People wear various styles, from jeans and t-shirts to dresses and suits. Regardless of how you dress, you will be welcomed here.
How long is service?
Our services consist of worship and a Spirit-filled message. Typically, services last an hour and a half.
How will new guests be treated?
You can expect to be treated the same way we treat everyone! DCF is overly friendly, so expect a few handshakes and hugs. However, we also respect that people often want to check things out. We welcome new guests, but won’t embarrass you. As a first-time visitor, we would like to give you a gift, so make sure to stop by Central Station.
What about my kids?
We offer free Biblical lessons for newborns to 6th grade, available during all of our services. We also have a teen ministry, called The Link, available to everyone in 7th-12th grade. Your children will be well taken care of by trained leaders who teach age-appropriate lessons. Your children are also welcome to join you in the service if you prefer.
Am I expected to give money?
We believe in the value of generous giving and make time each week to honor God with our finances during our services. However, your response to give is between you and Jesus. We will never pressure anyone to give. If you have additional questions, don’t hesitate to contact us.
Our Purpose and Mission:

Our Values:
-
We believe the Bible to be the inspired and only infallible Word of God.
II Timothy 3:16
-
We believe there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
I John 5:4-6
-
We believe that Jesus Christ is fully God. He was born of a virgin, lived a perfect and sinless life, performed miracles, and gave His life for us through His death on the cross. He rose from the dead, ascended into Heaven, and now sits at the right hand of the Father. One day, He will return in power and glory.
1 Corinthians 15:3, 1 Peter 2:21-24, John 3:16
-
We believe that anybody can be saved, no matter what you’ve done or how badly you’ve messed up. Salvation is made possible through a personal relationship with Jesus, and that a true change of heart—made available by the Holy Spirit—is essential for a new life in Christ.
Romans 3:21-30, Galatians 4:4-7
-
We believe that the baptism in the Holy Spirit is a powerful experience for every believer, marked first by speaking in tongues as the Spirit enables. This is followed by a life empowered to boldly share the Gospel and live out our faith with spiritual strength.
Acts 2:4, Acts 10:44-46, Acts 19:2 & 6, Acts 1:8, 2:42-43, Matthew 3:11
-
We believe that everyone will be raised from the dead—those who are saved will be raised to eternal life, and those who are lost will face eternal separation from God.
John 5:24, 28, 29
-
We believe that through Jesus’ sacrifice, healing is available—and it’s a promise that all believers can receive by faith.
Isaiah 53:4 Matthew 8:16, 17 Mark 16:18, 1 John 5:14, 1 Peter 2:24
